Mean Green?
After becoming a mommy, I gained interest in eating healthier so that I could properly nourish their little bodies. Through my research I found a lot of alarming facts about the foods and products that we put in and on our bodies. I have since switched to primarily organic and whole food products in order to protect my family from the chemicals and GMO’s (genetically modified organisms) found in majority of the stuff that lines our supermarket shelves.
I also discovered Dr. Joel Fuhrman (www.drfuhrman.com) and his nutritarian lifestyle. It’s basically a whole foods plant based diet with an emphasis on GBOMBS (Greens, Beans, Onions, Mushrooms, Berries, and Seeds). He has written several books and cured adults and children alike of many incurable diseases. It was fascinating and enlightening to discover just how much food is medicine.
I absolutely believe that knowledge is power and when you know better, you do better. It’s still challenging trying to make the total swap with two small children and a meat eating husband…did I mention there were minimal to no animal products allowed? So I’m staying strong and sticking with my mean kale, spinach, romaine, Swiss chard, broccoli, and collard greens. I could go on, but I think you get the idea!

Mommy Machine?
I’m a stay at home mommy of two beautiful girls (ages 3&1). This really means I’m a little bit of everything. I can multitask like a complex machine. I’m a doctor with my band aid stash for boo boos. I’m a chef with my blender whipping up something yummy. I’m a teacher with my shelves packed with children’s books. I’m a maid folding that pile of laundry that’s been on the couch for two days! I’m always on call and never off the clock. It is hard work, but the pay is far more precious than silver or gold! It’s more like hugs and kisses, plus a big bonus of memories that will last a lifetime!
Nothing beats watching your daughter take her first step…Or reading that book, you already know all the words to, because it’s her favorite one. The daily adventures of experiencing true imagination at its best! It is fun, it is messy, it is full of ups and downs. Some days it feels like an accomplishment that we’re all fed and everybody is alive! It is good days, bad days, and is this stain on my shirt from yesterday or today days. But one thing is true, It goes by so fast that all you can do is try to soak up every drop you can.
