Anyone who knows me, pretty much knows I hate using chemicals…especially for cleaning. I’ve always been this way, but it has gotten worse since having children. I can’t stand the thought of exposing their little bodies to unnecessary chemicals. I usually do my cleaning with more natural and less harmful ingredients like vinegar, baking soda, and even wet wipes. Through a friend, I was recentlyintroduced to... a company called Norwex. Their motto is, “Improving quality of life by radically reducing chemicals in our homes”. Wow that sounds right up my alley! So to begin with, let me say I am relatively new to these products and only have 3 so far. I was very impressed with the scientific studies that backed up their claims for just how clean their products can get your home. The one that stands out to me involves e coli in petri dishes. Each dish was “cleaned” with different products. The Norwex EnviroCloth beat out a standard all-purpose cleaner and a generic microfiber cloth. I mean this is a cloth and water! The secret lies within the cloth. The microfiber is 1/200th the thickness of a human hair, which allows it to pick up and trap dust, dirt, and even bacteria. If your mind isn’t blow yet, just wait! Many of their products contain micro silver, an antibacterial agent. This allows the products to self-cleanse within 24 hours, so that it reduces mold, bacteria and odor. The products that have this will be labeled “BacLock”. So, what have I tried? I originally ordered a kitchen cloth, which came with the BacLock. Due to certain specials, I also received a free EnviroCloth and Body Cloth. Let’s talk about the kitchen cloth. With 2 small children, it is a complete disaster after we sit down to eat any meal. I also have a glass table top, and there are little finger smudges all over where my daughter decided to have writing practice with whatever she could scrape up. I wanted something that would pick up crumbs and clean the glass up nicely. I have to say I was very impressed! After wiping the table off, it was basically streak free and very clean. The best part was that I only used water and the cloth. No soap, no cleaner, no wipes…just the cloth. Take a look at this picture. You can clearly tell the difference in using a standard cloth versus the Norwex. I just can’t get over how clean the table is! Next, I tried the body cloth. Even though they have a specific cloth geared towards makeup removal, I decided to give this one a shot. I only wear eyeliner and mascara, but these two things are sometimes the most difficult to get off. I grabbed my Norwex body cloth and wiped my eyes. I tried wet and dry, and both seemed to work well. I usually have to pull out some coconut oil and Q-tips to get my eyeliner off, because even soap and water don’t seem to do the trick. Well this little cloth did! I was very surprised! It’s super soft, yet strong enough to wipe the makeup right off my eyes. The best part is that this cloth is also BacLoc protected, meaning it can be hung up and reused in 24 hours. Now let’s talk about the EnviroCloth. This is the cloth that I told you practically wiped e coli out of a petri dish! I decided to use mine to clean up my Ninja blender base. Like most kitchen appliances, over time it has collected food and dust. Dirtiness seems to particularly stand out on stainless appliances. So I took my mini EnviroCloth and went to town on my Ninja. With very little effort majority of the smudges and dust was wiped away. My husband made the remark, “looks like new”. And you know what? It did! I was once again impressed with the results from Norwex! This cloth isn’t geared towards food messes as much as the kitchen cloth, due to the smaller micro fibers catching and not releasing little crumbs as well. But obviously kitchen counters and other kitchen surfaces without food could be wiped with this cloth. It’s sort of the “all-purpose” cleaning cloth. I’m so glad that I was introduced to such an amazing company that truly cares about creating a safer home for our families. I don’t have to worry about my daughters getting into something they shouldn’t. I don’t have to compromise “truly clean” at the expense of being safer. I can feel like I am making a difference, even if it’s just in my own home.
The 3 products that I mentioned are awesome, but they offer many other products as well. Things like bath towels, dusting mitts, baby products, and even cleaning and body care products. I have my eye on their mopping system! If you are interested in learning more about or even purchasing some of these products I would love to invite you to my online Norwex party. You can click here and join in on the party. It will be held on Facebook on September 21st at 8:00 pm. All you have to do is be online and participate in the fun posts. You will learn so much about the company and the products that they have to offer. You will also have a chance to win prizes and earn your own free items, as I did. If you can't make the party, and just want to look through the items and possibly order something before then, you can do that here. Join me in making a step towards a cleaner, safer and happier home.
