With small children and a house full of chaos, who wouldn’t want as much help as they could get? Juggling everyday tasks can become a lot easier if you have the right gadgets. Would I say my life depends on these gadgets? Probably not. Would I say my sanity depends on these gadgets? Probably so! 1.) NinjaI absolutely love my Ninja for so many reasons. Most of the reasons are centered on health! I am able to blend nuts and seeds to sprinkle in and on my kid’s food. I can whip up a healthy smoothie with a few hidden ingredients, and no one’s the wiser! I’ve made milkshakes, nut milks, orange juice, and the list goes on. It is the one kitchen gadget I can say I’m actually getting my money’s worth from! (Sorry Instant Pot that’s decorating my counter and collecting dust waiting on your first use. Hopefully I will be writing about you soon.) Anyways, I chose the Professional set that included the blender, smoothie cup and food processor. Although I’ve used all three, I gravitate towards the smoothie cup, because of its size and easy cleanup. I simply stick that baby in the dishwasher and call it a day! The other two are not that hard to clean, especially compared to others I’ve tried. It’s really more about their size. When I first started blender shopping, I looked at everything from super cheap to super expensive. I obviously wanted the Vitamix, but could not bring myself to pay that price. Maybe one day down the road. But for now I am perfectly happy with my Ninja! 2.) CrockpotWhat else do I have to say? I mean fix it, and forget it. With small children this is almost a must have. What is better than smelling supper cooking all day and then sitting down to enjoy it, not worn out from cooking it? And cleanup is usually a cinch. Put the leftovers in a dish and throw that baby in the dishwasher! Although I will use my Crockpot year round, there is something about fall that automatically makes me think “Crockpot”. I guess chili, boiled peanuts (while watching football) and other yummy things come to mind around that time of year. What’s your favorite Crockpot recipe? 3.) Immersion BlenderUntil I became healthier, I never had a need or desire for an immersion blender. But one day while reading a recipe, I realized that it would be a lot easier to use an immersion blender than transfer stuff to the blender and then return it to the pot. Plus you only have one small piece to wash versus three with my blender. I was still skeptical that I would get much use out of it, other than the occasional recipe. Well, I’m so glad I bought my KitchenAid immersion blender! I’ve used it to blend mashed potatoes, mix some desserts, blend soups and more. It is so small and handy, plus the cleanup is easy peasy! You can essentially use it in place of a hand mixerfor most recipes. Obviously it’s small and would take a while for bigger or thicker stuff, but it’s still very useful. You can also blend up a smoothie, right in the glass! 4.) Toaster OvenOnce upon a time we had a toaster over, but rarely used it. This was prior to having children and before I started eating healthier. I’m sure our old toaster oven saw fries and other frozen thingswhenever it was used! But after having kids, we decided to try the toaster oven thing again. Well, I am so glad that we did. I use my Black + Decker toaster oven practically every day! Everything from sprouted grain bread, casseroles, veggie flatbreads and even just plain onions and mushrooms have found their way into our toaster oven. It is also has convection mode, although I have yet to try it out! I’m just so glad that we can cook with less power and avoid heating the house up as much. 5.) VacuumAfter all that cooking with my amazing kitchen gadgets, there is bound to be a mess or two made. Also, with 2 little ones running around and an inside dog, the messes just keep on coming. I have a Rainbow vacuum that I completely love, but sometimes I need a quick and easy way to clean up crumbs in the floor and tracked in dirt. What I love about my Bissell Bolt ION Plus, is that it’s wireless. No cords to trip on. No searching for an outlet plug. Just grab it and go. As if that’s not good enough, it transforms into a hand vac. You know those messes in the car? Cleaning them up is a breeze. Everything fits nicely on the dock station until you are ready to use it again. It’s amazing at just how much stuff gets in the floor on a daily basis. This was a great investment that I would buy again in a heartbeat! So there you have it, my 5 must have gadgets! Do you have some of the things that I listed? What are your favorite mommy gadgets? I would love to discover new items to make my life easier!
