Believe it or not, I just recently got introduced to Usborne Books. For a three year old and a one year old, we have a pretty extensive collection of books! There is literally a miniature library collection taking over their room. Let’s just say I know a thing or two about children’s books. That’s why I was totally shocked when... I heard about this book company. How could these books not be in our lives? Well, it didn’t take long to start building our collection! If you’re like I was, and new to Usborne Books, let me fill you in a bit. These are not your typical “run of the mill” books! These are some of the most interactive books I’ve ever seen. They offer books for babies, all the way up to teens. I’m talking lift the flap, touch and feel, and so much more! The very first book I ordered was All Better! I bought it for Paislee (age 3), as she loves band aids and playing “doctor”. This book is amazing! Each little animal has a boo boo that needs a bandage. It also includes reusable bandage stickers to doctor each animal with. Super cute story and super cute interactive play! Not only was this book cute, but there was a slight imperfection when it arrived, and they fixed it no problem. I’ve since hosted an Usborne online book party, and of course, ordered more books for my girls. Another book that I must rave about is from their Shine-A -Light series. These books truly come to life with a flashlight. You shine the light behind each page and it reveals a secret image. We currently have The Human Body book, which shows all of the hidden things inside our body. I’ve got another one on the way that’s all about the garden! As far as books for babies, we have Baby’s very first touchy-feely Animals play book, which is just perfect for Emilee, my one year old. It has beautiful bright pages, lots of things to touch and feel, including finger trails on the pages for her to follow with her little fingers. It’s also very sturdy and has held up to being drug around by my one year old and three year old. That’s always a plus! Another one of Emilee’s favorites is Happy Baby, which I just happened to snag at 2nd & Charles, a local used bookstore. Emilee will bring this book to me and then turnaround and sit in my lap. It includes a music cd, although we usually just sing the songs ourselves. This book is so cute because it also gives actions for you and your baby, depending on their age, to go along with each song. If I’m not mistaken, this one isn’t sold through Usborne anymore...boo! But they have a new title in the same style book, called Little Ballerina Dancing Book, which also includes a music CD. With Paislee just starting dance, we also added this one to our collection as well. It’s very adorable! Another favorite, which I can’t leave out, is from their Masked Fairy Tale collection. They offer Little Red Riding Hood and Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Although it was a tough choice, we got Little Red Riding Hood. The book cover has a punch-out mask for Little Red Riding Hood and the wolf. As you read the story you can truly become part of it. What an absolutely adorable idea! Paislee loves this book and wants to read it over and over again, swapping out characters each time. I’m so glad that I had the opportunity to be introduced to these amazing books! Click here if you’d like to learn more about Usborne Books and More, browse the books they have, set up a party or even become a consultant. I promise you won’t regret it! Slowly but surely, we will continue to add to our collection of Usborne Books. I feel like you can never go wrong with books, because it’s an investment in our children’s future. We read a story every night before we go to bed, and usually several different times throughout the day. Nothing is more exciting than sparking the imagination of a child and bringing it to life. These books are more than just words, they are an opportunity for children to explore their imagination and truly discover!
